Brief for graffiti-style mural: Victoria Park mower shed
Background:
Victoria Park is a much-loved green space in Frome, used year-round by families, sports clubs and people of all ages. The mower shed is a small, practical building located on a well-used path between Victoria Park and Mary Baily. The wall of this building has been used as a prominent canvas for public art to date. The building is now ready for a refresh.
Location: here
Project aim:
To create a bold, super-realistic graffiti-style mural on the mower shed that brings colour, creativity and energy to the park, making the building a visual feature rather than a utilitarian space.
Size: 10.20m wide x 2.90m high

Tone and style:
- Graffiti in a super-realism style
- Bright, uplifting and playful — suitable for a public park
- Inclusive and welcoming
- Should reflect the spirit of the park, be playful and imaginative, reflect Frome as a town, or themes of nature and community
Scope:
- The wall will be prepared as a canvas before starting by whitewashing with a dark colour such as green or grey
- The mural should cover the main visible walls of the mower shed – as identified by the site photo
- Artists may work with aerosol paint, stencils or mixed media as appropriate
- Artwork must be weather-resistant and durable
- The final design will need to be approved before painting begins
Budget:
- Up to £2k
Timeline:
- Expressions of interest due: 29th August
