Frome Skatepark Fundraiser
Overview
Frome Town Council is forward thinking and ambitious. Our vision is of a town that is environmentally sustainable, inclusive and prosperous, with a community that is resilient, happy, and able to shape its own future as outlined in the Council Plan 2025-2027: https://bit.ly/ftc-council-plan-25-27.
Frome Town Council has a Play Strategy that has recently been independently reviewed with ambitions to develop play opportunities across the town: https://bit.ly/ftc-play-strategy-2021-25
In August 2025, Frome Town Councillors agreed a proposal to support the Local Skatepark Project to go ahead: https://bit.ly/ftc-meeting-27-august-2025
We are now seeking to commission an organisation or individual with a proven track record in fundraising to seek funding of approx. 400k for a new Skatepark at Mary Baily Playing Field. The fundraising should be achieved within 12 months of the appointment.
We are requesting proposals that detail how a fundraiser can achieve this that are realistic, creative and work in partnership with Frome Town Council and the Skatepark community.
Please submit a short, costed proposal to Hannah at hstopford@frometowncouncil.gov.uk by 9am on Monday 13th October.
For an informal conversation please contact Hannah Stopford on 01373 465 757.
Volunteer as an Energy Advice Champion for Frome
If you can commit a few hours a week or month and would like to make a difference to people’s lives, reducing their energy bills and lowering their carbon footprint, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for Energy Advice Champions to work with us to support our expanding Healthy Homes project delivered in partnership with Frome Medical Practice and the Centre of Sustainable Energy.
You will be a part of a friendly and supportive team, providing energy advice to groups and individuals with initiatives such as our regular drop in energy sessions, planned pop up events, and home visits (for those that need an additional support such as help with setting heating controls and draft proofing). We need support especially during the daytime, and in some evenings, so everyone is very welcome.
Full training will be provided and hours of volunteering can be flexible. For those that are interested, there will also be a free opportunity to complete a City & Guilds Level 3 in Energy Awareness.
If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Caroline Wajsblum: cwajsblum@frometowncouncil.gov.uk or 07597 700837
