Walk/Ride/Frome continues during winter

Back in June Frome Town Council launched the Walk/Ride/Frome project, we asked the local community to feed in ideas to an interactive map about which areas would benefit from safer walking and cycling routes. You answered in your droves and our wonderful map became populated with many ideas, suggestions, and comments on places around Frome. We heard from individuals, local walking groups and cycling enthusiasts to mention a few, and each comment will help feed into larger plan working with Somerset County Council and Mendip District Council.

Seasons change and as the winter months are now upon us, are there any other comments you may wish to add to the map? Do the darker nights and shorter days highlight other areas which weren’t so apparent in the summer? We’d still love to hear your comments, so whether it’s a crossing that needs more lighting or a footpath that needs more drainage, or even a new cycle route, we want to hear your ideas.

Cllr Rich Ackroyd said: “Many of us are still walking and cycling everywhere, it has now become a habit and is a positive outcome from the pandemic – but are there areas that can be improved on in the town? You may have given us some feedback in the summer, but have you noticed anything else that you’ve seen this winter? It’s not too late to add another comment, we welcome all feedback.”

Simply visit https://walkridefrome.commonplace.is/ . Place a pin on an area which you would like to comment on and add your feedback on the area you have chosen, it’s a simple as that, and you can add as many areas as you wish.
