Train as an Energy Champion with Frome Town Council

An Energy Champion training session

The Healthy Homes team at Frome Town Council is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to join its Energy Champion team. Energy Champions help to run sessions and provide advice to local people, to help them get the energy support they need. Energy Champions benefit from free training in Frome by FTC, working with the Bristol-based Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) and will learn about a range of topics, including fuel poverty and how it affects people, resources for tackling energy debt, making home improvements and improving the energy efficiency of homes, and communication skills.

Energy Advice Volunteer Coordinator, Caroline Wajsblum said, “Joining the crew means becoming part of our friendly and supportive team. Full training is provided and hours of volunteering can be flexible, so everyone is very welcome.

“As an Energy Champion you will provide energy advice in a range of ways, including regular drop-in energy sessions, pop-up outreach events, phone calls and home visits. If you have some time to spare and you’re interested to increase your knowledge of energy solutions while helping others, please get in touch.”

Healthy Homes is part of Green and Healthy Frome, a collaboration between Frome Medical Practice, Edventure and Frome Town Council, funded by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund (CAF). The team is also supported by the Centre for Sustainable Energy and the Centre for Energy Equality.
