Temporary road closures for October 2021

The following road closures are due to take place in and around Frome during October 2021.

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are expected to last until 19th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 3rd October 2021.

This order will enable The Frome Independent Market to take place.

Paddles Lane

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling a section of Paddles Lane as shown on the map.

This order will enable Wales & West Utilities to repair a gas leak.

The works started on 7th October 2021 and are expected to last until 13th October between the hours of 00:00 – 23.59.

Alexandra Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling along Alexandra Road from 10.00-12.30 on Sunday 17th October 2021.

This order will enable a children’s street play session to take place.

The Mount

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along The Mount, from the junction with Little Keyford Lane to The Mount, northwards for a total distance of 156 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable SCC (Highways Maintenance) to remove diseased Ash trees on or near the road.

An alternative route will be signed on site.

The works are anticipated to start on the 18th October 2021 until 22nd October 2021 between the hours of 09:15 – 15:30 for a total of 5 days.

Keyford

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Keyford, from the junction with Keyford Terrace, southwards for a total distance of 58 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Bristol water to fit a hydrant.

The order becomes effective on the 14th October 2021 with works expected to start and finish on the 24th October 2021 between the hours of 09:00 – 18:00 for a total of 9 hours.

Weymouth Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Weymouth Road, from 60m north east of the junction with Somerset Road north eastwards for a total distance of 70 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Bristol water to install a hydrant chamber.

The order becomes effective on the 14th October 2021 with works expected to start on the 19th October 2021 until 21st October 2021 between the hours of 00:00 – 23:59 for a total of 3 days.

Rodden Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling along Rodden Road from the junction with Berkley Road to the junction to Enos Way between 17.00-19.00 on Saturday 30th October 2021.

The closure coincides with the community Glow in the Park event and drone display.
