There’s all to play for this Playday

Local play providers Super Roots and popular musical entertainers Chalguh Chengi will be bringing their unique flair for fun to the area outside the library on Wednesday 3rd August from 10.30am – 12.30pm to celebrate national Playday.

Frome Town Council and Frome Library are working together to support this year’s free Playday event which encourages children to be playful with their imaginations and artistic inventions.

Cllr Tracey Ashford said, “Come along and celebrate diversity in play by getting creative with colour and crafting all whilst dancing to Turkish music. It’s a chance to think about play differently and be inspired to choose play in your day to day life.”

There will be opportunities to make patches, badges, head-dresses, necklaces and bracelets with recycled materials as well as the chance to decorate hula hoops and juggling balls to compliment the musical offering. Alongside all the creative action, everyone will be invited to contribute to a collective art banner celebrating play in all its forms.

These activities are all part of Frome Town Council’s Play Strategy, which you can find out more about at here.
