Temporary road closures for September 2021

The following road closures are due to take place in and around Frome during September 2021.

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are expected to last until 19th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59.

Nunney Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling along Nunney Road from 14.00-21.00 on Saturday 4th September 2021.

This order will enable a community street party to take place.

Elm Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Elm Lane to Hapsford Hill – from the junction with Park Hill to the junction with Elm Lane, south westwards for a distance of 210 metres. Elm Lane to Park Hill – from the junction with Elm Lane, westwards for a distance of 320 metres. Elm Lane – from the junction with Elm Lane to Hapsford Hill, south eastwards for a distance of 250 metres. A total distance of 780 metres.

This order will enable BT Openreach to carry out overhead and underground cabling works.

The order becomes effective on the 2nd September 2021 with works expected to start on the 7th September 2021 until 24th September 2021 between the hours of 09.30 – 15.30 for a total of 18 days.

North Parade, Bath Street, Market Place and The Bridge

***Please note – there will be no road closure but patching work will take place with the use of road signals***

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along North Parade, from the junction with Welshmill Road, south westwards incorporating The Bridge, Market Place and Bath Street to the junction with Eagle Lane – a total distance of 391 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Milestone Infrastructure to carry out patching works.

The order becomes effective on the 2nd September 2021 with works expected to start on the 8th September 2021 until 8th September 2021 between the hours of 09.30 – 15.30 for a total of 1 day.

Palmer Street

There will be a parking suspension in Palmer Street on Thursday 9th September to enable Bristol Water to carry out works.

Selwood Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling along Selwood Road from 12.00-20.00 on Saturday 11th September 2021.

This order will enable a community street party to take place.

Alexandra Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling along Alexandra Road from 10.00-12.30 on Sunday 12th September 2021.

This order will enable a children’s street party to take place.

Long Ground

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Long Ground from the junction with New Buildings north westwards, for a distance of approximately
25 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Bristol Water to carry out new supply works.

The order becomes effective on the 23rd September 2021 with works expected to start on the 27th September 2021 until 29th September 2021 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 3 days.
