Temporary road closures February 2023

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during February 2023.

Berkley Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Berkley Lane, from the junction of Dark Lane in a south-eastern direction for 400 metres.

This Order will enable Sunbelt rentals to carry out minor bridge repairs.

The order becomes effective on the 9th February 2023 with works expected to start on the 13th February 2023 until 17th February 2023 between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00 for a total of 5 days.

Buckland Lane & Elm Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling from Buckland Lane, the junction with Elm Lane to Hapsford Hill to Elm Lane, the junction with Sands Cross Lane and Lower Street, for a total distance of 1,640 metres.

This Order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out phased preparation works and resurfacing works.

The order became effective on the 24th March 2022 with works expected to start on the 15th February 2023 until 17th February 2023 for a total of 3 days.

Gypsy Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Gypsy Lane, from the junction with Bath Road, eastwards for a total distance of 372 metres.

This order will enable OpenReach to carry out ducting works.

The order becomes effective on the 16th February 2023 with works expected to start on the 20th February 2023 until 22nd February 2023 between the hours of 08.00 – 17.00 for a total of 3 days.

Footway between Selwood Road and The Mint (F1056-130)

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency footpath closure of the footway between Selwood Road and The Mint, adjacent to number 12, for a total distance of 2 metres.

This order will enable D & D Developments (Somerset) Ltd to carry out works to connect electric in a manhole.

The works are expected to start on the 24th February 2023 until 28th February 2023 between the hours of 09.30 – 16.30 for a total of 5 days.

Ongoing closures

Keyford Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Keyford Lane from the junction with Sandys Hill Lane in a southern direction for 55 metres.

This order will enable Rendec to carry out storm drain installation works.

The order becomes effective on the 5th January 2023 with works expected to start on the 9th January 2023 and are now expected to continue until 3rd February 2023 (prevoius end date 27th January) between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 19 days.

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are now expected to last until 31st March 2023 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59. Please note the following notices have not been updated with the new finish date.
