Temporary road closures February 2022

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during February 2022.

Elm Lane to Park Hill

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Elm Lane to Park Hill, from the junction of Fairview to Park Hill, eastwards for a distance of 1400 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Sunbelt Rentals to carry out poling works on behalf of BT Openreach.

The order becomes effective on the 20th January 2022 with works now expected to start on the 8th February 2022 until 8th February 2022 between the hours of 09.30 – 15.30 for a total of 6 hours.

Wine Street

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency road closure prohibiting all traffic from travelling the length of Wine Street as shown on the map:

The works started on 11th February 2022 and are expected to last until 17th February 2022.

Old Wells Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Old Wells Road, from 100 metres south east of the junction with Whatley Cottage Lane to 100 metres south west of the Junction with Whatley Cottage Lane for a total distance of 200 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Milestone Infrastructure to carry out drainage works.

The order becomes effective on the 10th February 2022 with works expected to start on the 14th February 2022 until 16th February 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 3 days.

Green Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Green Lane, from the junction with Weymouth Road, south westwards for a total distance of 65 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Bristol Water to replace stop taps.

The order becomes effective on the 17th February 2022 with works expected to start on the 21st February 2022 until 22nd February 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 2 days.

Somerset Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling Somerset Road, from the junction with The Butts, north westwards for a distance of 54 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable SSE PLC to lay a new electricity cable.

The order becomes effective on the 10th February 2022 with works expected to start on the 28th February 2022 until 6th March 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 7 days.

Old Wells Road and Murder Combe

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Old Wells Road, from the junction with Murder Combe, eastwards for a distance of 120 metres; and Murder Combe, from the junction with Old Wells Road, north westwards for a distance of 300 metres. A total distance of 420 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out drainage works.

The order becomes effective on the 24th February 2022 with works expected to start on the 28th February 2022 until 18th March 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 19 days.

Ongoing road closures

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are expected to last until 19th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59.
