Frome’s Climate Fair

Frome Town Council (FTC) are inviting residents and businesses from across the town to the “Climate and Biodiversity: Frome takes action” event which will be held on Wednesday 19th July at 6:30pm at the Cheese and Grain.

Befitting of the venue, the event will comprise of two halves. First, the meeting will hear about the work FTC’s Resilience Team has undertaken so far since the Climate and Ecological Emergency was declared and the strategy needed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.  There will also be an update from Somerset Council on their work, plus speakers from Green & Healthy Frome, Frome College among others.  There will be an opportunity for attendees to discuss, ask questions and get involved.

Following this, the second half will be the Climate Fair. Various organisations and community groups along with selected individuals will host their stalls which will provide an opportunity to chat about their amazing work, be inspired to take further action and there’s some fun activities too!

Mayor of Frome, Philip Campagna said: “I’m excited to hear from the speakers and see the important work they are doing to address climate change and biodiversity loss, the impact they are seeing and insights into what we can all be doing more of, either personally or as organisations.

I also think the Climate Fair is a brilliant way to see what groups such as Broadway Community Gardens, Healthy Homes, Frome Families for the Future to name but a few, are doing and how we can follow suit. With activities and film screenings it promises be an inspiring and informative evening, which we can turn into action.”

All are welcome to attend, there will be a light supper served so please do sign up to reserve your space.
