A documentary that won a News & Documentary Emmy® Award for Outstanding Direction: Documentary last month will be screened at Frome Town Hall on Friday 19 June as part of Refugee Week 2026.

Hosted by the Frome Welcome Hub for displaced people, 2000 Meters to Andriivka is a powerful film exploring the human experience of war and displacement and its impact on communities.

The screening is open to everyone and aims to create space for reflection, understanding and connection. There will be an information discussion after for those who would like to take part.

Mayor of Frome, Cllr Mark Dorrington, said: “Stories have the ability to bring people together and help us see the world through someone else’s eyes. This film offers a powerful insight into the realities of conflict and displacement, encouraging us to reflect on the experiences of others. Refugee Week is about recognising our shared humanity, and we hope people will join us for this thought-provoking evening.”

Tickets are available for a suggested donation of £3, with all proceeds going to Frome Welcomes Refugees, a volunteer-led group supporting refugees and displaced people through practical help, friendship, advocacy and community activities.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Book your tickets for 2000 Meters to Andriivka here.
