Let’s Talk, a local community group, has announced a new season of free workshops designed to help attendees handle difficult conversations with productive communication techniques. This programme of events runs through September, October, and November from 6:30-8pm at Frome Town Hall.
Each of the workshops will focus on a specific set of communication skills – from how to reflect and pause in conversations, to understanding how psychological scripts can lead us to repeat unhealthy patterns in conversations and relationships.
Sheila Gore from Let’s Talk said, “We’ve all been there – there’s a tension you want to resolve, but you can’t quite figure out how to have the conversation. It can sometimes even feel easier to just avoid it altogether,”
“Handled in the right way, a difficult conversation can help you to work through conflict, resolve tensions, and improve relationships. Let’s Talk is all about giving people the skills to do just that.”
All the Let’s Talk workshops for autumn 2026 are free to attend, though booking is essential.
Let’s Talk autumn 2026 workshop programme
Thursday 24 September – Said It Before You’d Thought It? There’s a Reason For That
6.30-8pm at Frome Town Hall
We’ve all been there: the words came out before you’d chosen to say them. That’s not a personality flaw, it’s just your brain being quicker than your better judgement. This workshop looks at why we react before we reflect and gives you some practical tools to help you pause so that next time, you get to decide what you actually want to say.
Thursday 22 October – Understanding Psychological Games and Scripts
6.30-8pm at Frome Town Hall
Games and scripts are two core concepts in transactional analysis that explain why people often repeat unhealthy relationship patterns and life outcomes. This session will explain the process behind these two concepts and offer opportunities to relate them to participants’ own lives.
Thursday 26 November – Tools for Tackling Tricky Conversations
6.30-8pm at Frome Town Hall
Would you like to handle a tricky conversation with greater chance of being understood? This workshop will help you remember to take a breath before you respond, to own your feelings, to listen carefully, and to communicate without blame.
Let’s Talk is a Frome-based group of volunteers who have all been trained in practical tools for having difficult conversations. They work with individuals and community groups to share restorative communication techniques – approaches that are designed to strengthen relationships, build mutual understanding, and address conflict in constructive ways.
