Frome street artists brighten up Frome’s parks

Frome street artists have been brightening up some of the town’s parks and open spaces in Frome. Two new murals can be seen at Welshmill and Victoria Park.

Street Art1Chris Stringer, Environment Manager for Frome town council, who has been working closely with local Frome street artists on the public areas, said: “The wall at Welshmill is painted regularly and the designs change often, we worked closely with a local Frome artist on this one and it’s appropriate for the summer. Generally, this is a colourful and interesting way to liven up these spaces.

Work in progress2He added “We want to encourage local graffiti artists to use their skills constructively and not just tag a bin or flower container. ”

If you want to see the graffiti bird mural at the children’s play area at Welshmill it’s located at the Welshmill Lane end of the site. You can also get to it by following the footpath past the Cheese & Grain and the canoe club; or cut through the woodlands by coming in, off Welshmill Road.Welshmill Sketchbook Design3
