Volunteer as a Discover Frome Ambassador

Are you looking for a new fun role where you can chat about our fantastic town and support one of the town’s historic buildings? Volunteers are needed to help support Frome’s popular Information Point. Discover Frome, the town’s one-stop shop of all things local, hopes to recruit more volunteers to support the service and open seven days a week from 1st August 2022 at Black Swan Arts.

The Information Point has recently moved into the Round Tower which means that they are also able to house Discover Frome Makers to promote the wide range of talented, local creatives. The Round Tower also includes a unique exhibition space which has just hosted an impressive Frome Photo display during the Photography Festival.

The friendly volunteer team provide information about events and activities taking place in the town as well as details about walking, cycling and exploring the area for residents and visitors alike.  Cllr Anita Collier said: “The information point is Frome’s first port of call when it comes to what you need to know about the town. We’re enormously grateful to our current volunteers and would love to see more join the team. Whether you’re recently retired, starting your career or looking to get more involved with your local community, if you have a passion for Frome and enjoy meeting people, becoming a Discover Frome volunteer could be just the thing for you.”

Discover Frome Information Point is currently open Tuesday – Saturday from 10am – 4pm as well as on Independent Market Sundays.

Anyone with time to spare, looking for a new opportunity or to gain skills and experience can volunteer their time on the days that suit them. The role includes opening and closing the Information Point as well as handling money and communicating directly with the public.

Full training will be given, to find out more about the position visit our jobs page or email info@frometowncouncil.gov.uk or call 01373 465757.
