Temporary road closures March 2022

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during March 2022.

Spring Gardens

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Spring Gardens, from the junction with Innox Hill, northwards for a distance of 60 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Wessex Water to carry out relining works.

The order becomes effective on the 24th February 2022 with works expected to start on the 2nd March 2022 until 4th March 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 3 days.

Rodden Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Rodden Road, from the junction with New Road, north-westwards for a total distance of 140 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out bridge examination and cleaning works.

The order becomes effective on the 24th February 2022 with works expected to start on the 5th – 6th March 2022 and again on 12th – 13th March 2022 between the hours of 22.00 – 06.00 for a total of 4 nights.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 6th March 2022.

This order will enable The Frome Independent Market to take place.

Innox Hill

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Innox Hill, from the junction with Innox Hill, northwards for a distance of 40 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable BT Openreach safe access to underground BT structures.

The order becomes effective on the 3rd March 2022 with works expected to start on the 7th March 2022 until 7th March 2022 between the hours of 08.00 – 15.30 for a total of 8 hours.

Somerset Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Somerset Road, from the junction with The Butts, north westwards for a distance of approximately 60 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable SSE PLC to lay a new electricity cable.

The order became effective on 10th February and works are now expected to commence on the 7th March 2022 until 13th March 2022 between the hours of 08.00 – 17.00 for a total of 7 days.

Pot Lane, Berkley

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Pot Lane, from the junction with Dark Lane, southwards for a total distance of 680 metres as shown on the map:

The order becomes effective on the 3rd March 2022 with works expected to start on the 8th March 2022 until 18th March 2022 between the hours of 08.00 – 18.00 for a total of 11 days.

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Whitewell Road, from the junction with Somerset Road, south-westwards for a total distance of 99 metres as shown on the map:

The order becomes effective on the 10th March 2022 with works expected to start on the 14th March 2022 until 20th March 2022 between the hours of 08.00 – 17.00 for a total of 7 days.

Wallbridge

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Wallbridge, from the junction with Great Western Street, north eastwards for a distance of 100 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Capital Traffic to carry out rail bridge inspection works on behalf of Network Rail.

The order becomes effective on the 10th March 2022 with works expected to start on the 15th March 2022 until 16th March 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 2 days.

Lower Keyford

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Lower Keyford, from the junction with Rossiters Road northwards for a distance of 120 metres as shown on the map:

This Order will enable Dun Mill Construction to carry out storm & sewer drainage works.

The Order becomes effective on 17th March 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 21st March 2022 and last until 25th April 2022 between the hours of 00:00 – 23:59 for a total of 35 days.

Ongoing closures

Old Wells Road and Murder Combe

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Old Wells Road, from the junction with Murder Combe, eastwards for a distance of 120 metres; and Murder Combe, from the junction with Old Wells Road, north westwards for a distance of 300 metres. A total distance of 420 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out drainage works.

The works commenced on the 28th February 2022 and are expected to continue until 18th March 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 19 days.

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are expected to last until 19th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59.
