Temporary road closures April 2023

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during April 2023.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 2nd April 2023 as shown on the map:

This order will enable The Frome Independent Market to take place.

Beechwood Avenue

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling from 60 metres east from the junction with Rodden Road, northwards for a total distance of 21 metres.

This order will enable Capstan Contractors to carry out resurfacing works.

The order becomes effective on the 20th April 2023 with works expected to start on the 25th April 2022 until 27th April 2022 between the hours of 08.00 – 17.00 for a total of 3 days.

Maytree Close

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from the junction with Stonebridge Drive, southwards for a total distance of 43 metres.

This order will enable Milestone Infrastructure to carry out resurfacing works.

The order becomes effective on the 13th April 2023 with works expected to start on the 21st April 2023 until 21st April 2023 between the hours of 07.30 – 18.00 for a total of 1 day.

Ongoing closures

Long Ground

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency road closure notice at Long Ground.

This order will enable Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks to carry out cable fault repair.

The works started on the 28th March 2023 and are expected to continue until 3rd April 2023 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 7 days.
