A positive Switch for a greener New Year

As a way to help reduce carbon emissions and pollution from household energy usage and raise funds for good causes, many people in Somerset are switching their energy supplier to one that provides 100% renewable energy. Frome Town Council’s energy providers are Good Energy and Ecotricity – both renewable energy companies.

Cara Naden, Resilience Officer says “If you’re thinking about switching to greener energy providers for the New Year, consider the following deals: Environmental Charity, Carymoor Environmental Trust near Castle Cary has teamed up with Ecotricity, a green energy company based in Gloucestershire. This partnership will aim to protect wildlife and safeguard habitats.  To find out more see their website here: http://www.carymoor.org.uk/ecotricity.html.

Friends of the Earth has teamed up with and Good Energy meaning switching the gas and electricity to your home or business is now a more simple process. These gold-standard green suppliers get 100% of their electricity from renewable sources and, like FoE, are committed to breaking the UK’s reliance on fossil fuels. If you are currently with a nuclear energy supplier you could receive up to £40 by switching to Good Energy or Ecotricity . Find out more here http://switchedfoff.org.uk/. ”
