Local arts organisation Terrestrial invite Frome families to join them on Saturday 21st June from 10am to 2.30pm in Victoria Park for ‘Midsummer Mischief’. This free event, which also marks Refugee Week 2025, offers crafts, storytelling, making costumes and folk dancing, celebrating cultures from around the world, on the longest day of the year. Everyone is welcome and guests are encouraged to bring a picnic and make a day of it. The park café will be open all day serving hot and cold refreshments.
Terrestrial director Tom Spencer said:
“Join us for some all-ages fun on Midsummer’s Day. A group of families have spent the last few weeks making wild costumes with artist Svitlana Semashko. Now you can come and make your own and join us for a parade around the park. Drop in throughout the day for summer storytelling, songs and dance, or to build a hammock in the trees. Bring on the mischief!”
Cllr Andy Jones said: “Terrestrial events are always fantastic, bringing lots of fun, creativity and a touch of silliness, and an invitation to everyone to get stuck in. This event is also a celebration of the brilliant Welcome Hub and its work supporting displaced people from around the world, making the world a smaller, friendlier and more connected place. Fingers crossed for some lovely midsummer weather to match the mischief!”
