Late night shoppers hit the streets of Frome

Christmas shopping got off to a flying start with shoppers taking to the streets of Frome to shop in our amazing array of independent shops.  It may have been chilly but that didn’t stop Father Christmas, ably assisted by his elves, seeing all the good children of Frome in his Grotto.Christmas scene of Stony Street, Frome

To keep shoppers warm Le Van Blanc and The Crumpeteers were on hand with mulled wine and cider and delicious seasonal snacks.  And keeping the festive spirit going, Frome Town Band played some wonderful carols and Clare Krige also did a fantastic set playing her guitar.

The late night shopping events really encourages the town to shop locally and is perfect for those wanting to avoid busy weekend shopping.  Cllr Nick Dove said, “This  year why not visit the fantastic independent shops in Frome meet the owners and some of our brilliant makers. You will find unique gifts for family and friends and get to know the men and women who have chosen to set up and run their businesses in our wonderful town”.

Don’t worry if you missed out, there are still two late night shopping evenings on Thursday 12th and 19th where you can come and meet Father Christmas and shop in a relaxed festive environment, the shops will stay open until 7pm.
