Shared Earth Learning is a collective of dedicated outdoor educators and qualified forest school leaders whose aim is to nurture a love of nature in everyone. Shared Earth facilitates Forest School and wellbeing sessions in the local community for adults and young people with an urgent need for support.
Forest School
Forest school sessions aim to build on a person’s innate motivation and positive attitude to learning. One of the benefits of Forest School is the high leader/participant ratio, which encourages an attitude of shared inquiry and enjoyment of the natural world. Participants are supported to explore and appreciate their environment, encouraging them to think creatively and confidently. Forest School is person-led with opportunities to take risks, make choices and initiate learning for themselves, providing a chance to discover their abilities without fear of failure or criticism.
Term-time sessions for children and young people are by referral only, but whole day Holiday Forest School sessions are run during most school holidays and open to all children aged 5 to 15, while adult sessions on Mondays can be self-referred and our Volunteer Saturdays are for anyone.
