LGS Transport is a family run business that has been established for 10 years. The transport training they offer includes driving lessons for Car, LGV & HGV through to forklift trucks and they work with large organisations across the southwest.
Between March to September 2020, the business was unable to deliver training due to the pandemic and was facing the prospect of closing completely. However, they decided to diversify their businesses to bring in a new income stream and started an embroidery service, called LGS Printing and Embroidery. This was run out of their existing site at Commerce Park and they are now extending the premises to further the business.
The business has succeeded in developing contracts with schools in Frome. They pride themselves on being able to offer schools and parents value for money alongside good quality and have helped reduce the costs of the uniforms they provide schools to by 10%. Through close discussions with schools they have been able to adapt the style of clothing offered to match parents needs.
In addition to school uniforms, the businesses has been successfully targeting local sports and community groups such as Frome’s rugby, hockey and netball clubs, as well as branching out to local drama and dance clubs.
LGS Printing recently took on a new member of staff through the Kickstart programme who they say is ‘a true gem’ and real benefit to the businesses.
