With over four decades of hands-on experience in the UK, China, and beyond, Keith Ferris helps people restore balance and vitality through acupuncture, nutrition, and practical lifestyle support.
Keith’s journey in Oriental medicine began in the 1970s with Shiatsu, a Japanese bodywork system using the same points and channels as acupuncture. He went on to complete a three-year acupuncture programme at the London School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (now the University of Westminster acupuncture course) in 1989 and has been in continuous clinical practice ever since.
His studies took him to China, where he trained at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and worked at Yueyang Hospital. In 2004, he was appointed Visiting Professor at Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (now Zhejiang Chinese Medical University).
Alongside clinical practice, Keith founded the South West College of Oriental Medicine in 1996 and taught acupuncture at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for nearly twenty years.
Today, he runs a quiet, one-to-one practice in Frome, Somerset. His approach blends Traditional Chinese Medicine with nutrition and lifestyle guidance, tailored to each person’s needs — whether that’s fatigue, stress, pain, or long-term health issues.
Keith’s treatments are gentle, responsive, and aimed at helping the body find its own balance without strain. Many clients describe their sessions as deeply calming and often notice a lasting sense of ease afterwards.
