Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) affiliated club based in Frome, that welcomes players of all abilities as members. Frome Tennis provides tennis activity and membership for adults, students and juniors. Coaching is provided for adults and juniors, and there are opportunities for play at all levels from beginner to team player. Reduced price membership and coaching (free in certain circumstances) is available for juniors receiving the pupil premium, and concessionary membership for adults low income families.
Their junior section offers year-round coaching sessions from age 4 upwards – see website for details and times.
The club also has girls only six week courses for those new to tennis for 4-9 and 9-16 year olds.
Tennis holiday camps for ages 9-16 are run during Easter holidays, summer half term, summer holidays and autumn half-term. The camps help children to develop their tennis techniques effectively in a fun game based system. The games teach tennis strokes, tactics and how to play points and in a very short space of time players will make significant gains and feel more confident about their performance.
Senior club sessions are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday afternoons – members just turn up and mix in. Members may also book courts up to 14 days in advance.
For members who seek competitive play, the club enters nine teams in the local doubles league. For singles, they run an annual Ratings Tournament in the summer where players enter at their ability level. They also run various internal competitions and leagues (for members only) throughout the year.
