To join Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Rangers register online at www.girlguiding.org.uk or call 0800 1 69 59 01 for general enquiries.

Once a parent or guardian has put in their home address the system will show them the details of the groups within their local area. They then select the most suitable group which sends a joining enquiry email to the relevant Leader.

Rainbows (age 5-7)

Rainbows is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun. Girls get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, get in touch with nature and play games – it’s all about learning by doing.

Brownies (age 7-10)

Brownies introduces girls to a world of new opportunities, challenges and fun. Girls go along to camps, holidays, day trips and sleepovers. They get together with their friends at regular meetings where they learn new hobbies, get creative, develop skills and have outdoor adventures. As well as trying activities in their meetings, girls choose from interest badges related to things they want to know more about.

Guides (age 10-14)

What you do in Guides is up to you, from taking part in lots of exciting activities at regular meetings to special events and trips away. You will choose from different badges and awards which will help you learn new skills and try new challenges. You can do some of this on your own and others you’ll do in groups in your regular unit meetings.

Rangers (age 14-18)

Rangers wear a brand new uniform, meet up regularly, have fun doing activities together and be recognised for their achievements with badges and awards. Whatever you want to do, Rangers offers a range of unique opportunities. In Rangers you’ll follow a programme of interest badges, skills builders and awards. You’ll take part in amazing challenges, travel the world and develop skills across six themes.
