ARC

Antiracist and cultural diversity education and support.

We are a growing hub of people with various skills and experiences, ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds dedicated to supporting our community in Frome to become more proactively anti-racist.

In recent months we have received much interest from the local community, schools, and parents who are keen to learn together how best to create a diverse, safe and inclusive environment for every child growing up in Frome. ARC project is about getting these conversations going and opening up the channels of communication about racism and its impact so we can help create more understanding, equality of opportunity and fair mindedness. In order for this to happen we need to listen to why certain groups are excluded, marginalised and discriminated against and ensure that every child is supported to thrive and that all cultures are treated with equal dignity.

Our approach is to learn together in a mutually supportive way and to build alliances to create a cohesive and sustainable antiracist multicultural network within Frome.

As well as being grant funded by FTC and SDC, we are developing working ties with Frome Learning Partnership, Frome Library, Frome Town Football Club, Somerset Antiracism and Diversity in Education Network, and other local agencies and businesses.
