The Working Group for The People’s Budget 2019

The working group is made up of two councillors, two members of council staff, and a young person doing an internship with the council.

The working group have been reflecting on the over 200 ideas we’ve received from the Have Your Say consultation and thinking about how these can be developed into a set of clear proposals that the council could act on. You can download the results from the survey here (xlsx, 36KB).

Any ideas that aren’t eligible for funding have been removed using these criteria. Similar ideas have been merged and the group have tried to draw from people’s suggestions to create clear proposals that can be achieved by the town council within the £10,000 budget.

The resulting proposals have now been shared on the Your Priorities website. We’ve kept a record of all ideas sent in and these will be used to help inform the council’s work. Some ideas will also be passed onto other organisations who are better placed to act on them.

The working group will carry out a similar review of new ideas submitted online prior to a final shortlisting event with members of the public. This will remove ineligible ideas and group similar proposals.
