Temporary road closures October 2022

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during October 2022.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 2nd October 2022 as shown on the map:

Sandys Hill Lane

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Sandys Hill Lane.

This order will enable MTL Group Ltd to carry out removal of roadside trees.

The order becomes effective on the 13th October 2022 with works expected to start on the 13th October 2022 until 14th October 2022 between the hours of 09.00 – 15.30 for a total of 2 days.

Palmer Street

Somerset County Council have issued a road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Palmer Street.

This order will enable Frome Town Council to carry out works to fit eye bolts to buildings, for Christmas lights.

The order becomes effective on the 18th October 2022 with works expected to take place on the 18th October 2022 between the hours of 12.00 – 20.00 for a total of 8 hours.

Trinity Row

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Trinity Row, from the junction with Orchard Street in a northerly direction for a total distance of 48 metres.

This order will enable Bristol Water to replace a fire hydrant.

The order becomes effective on the 20th October 2022 with works expected to start on the 24th October 2022 until 26th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 3 days.

Glebelands and Pookfield Close, Nunney

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Glebelands, from the junction with Flowerfield southwards for a total distance of 109 metres and Pookfield Close, from the junction with Glebelands eastwards for a total distance of 91 metres. A total distance of 200 metres.

This order will enable Flynn Ltd to carry out drainage works for a new housing development.

The order becomes effective on the 20th October 2022 with works expected to start on the 24th October 2022 until 23rd December 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 61 days.

Foghamshire Lane, Trudoxhill

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Foghamshire Lane, 261 metres west from the junction with Cheese Hill westwards for a total distance of 32 metres.

This order will enable Bristol Water to carry out works to replace a fire hydrant.

The order becomes effective on the 27th October 2022 with works expected to start on the 31st October 2022 until 2nd November 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 3 days.

Goose Street, Beckington

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Goose Street, 36 metres north east from the junction with Bath Road, north eastwards for a total
distance of 292 metres.

This order will enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer renovation works.

The order becomes effective on the 27th October 2022 with works expected to start on the 31st October 2022 until 3rd November 2022 between the hours of 08.00 – 20.00 for a total of 4 days.

A36 – Standerwick

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along the A36 in both directions at Standerwick overnight. Traffic lights will be in operation during the day.

This order will enable for bridge repairs to be carried out on behalf of Network Rail.

The works are expected to start on the 31st October 2022 and last until 17th December 2022 between the hours of 21.00 – 07.00 for a total of 47 nights.

Castle Corner, Beckington

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Castle Corner, from 25 metres south east of the junction with Frome Road, south westwards for 107 metres.

This order will enable Bristol Water to replace a fire hydrant.

The order becomes effective on the 27th October 2022 with works expected to start on the 31st October 2022 until 2nd November 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 3 days.

Ongoing closures

A36 – Beckington (A361) to Farleigh (A366)

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along the A36 in both directions from Beckington (A361) to Farleigh (A366). Northbound diversion via A361, A350 and A4. Southbound diversion via A366 and A361.

This order will enable resurfacing works to be carried out.

The works are expected to start on the 19th September 2022 and last until 15th October 2022 on week days between the hours of 20.00 – 06.00 for a total of 20 nights.

Buckland Lane & Elm Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling from Buckland Lane, the junction with Elm Lane to Hapsford Hill to Elm Lane, the junction with Sands Cross Lane and Lower Street, for a total distance of 1,640 metres.

This order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out phased preparation works and resurfacing works.

Works are expected to start on the 26th September 2022 until 17th October 2022 excluding the weekends between the hours of 07.30 – 18.00 for a total of 22 days.

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are expected to last until 19th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59.
