Temporary road closures May 2022

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during May 2022.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 1st May 2022.

This order will enable The Frome Independent Market to take place.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling through the town centre – The Bridge and Market Place:

This order will enable the Green Breather Day event to take place.

The road will be closed on Saturday 21st May 2022 between the hours of 10.00-16.00.

Lynfield Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic travelling from a point 50 metres north of the junction with Nunney Road in a northerly, easterly, southerly and westerly direction for a distance of 300 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable a playdays event to take place.

The road will be closed on 22nd May 2022 between the hours of 09.30 – 12.30.

King Street & Church Street

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling along King Street between 09.00-10.00 on Saturday 28th May 2022.

This order will enable the St Aldhelm’s Well Blessing to take place.

High Street, Buckland Dinham

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along High Street – from 32 metres east of the junction with Cock Road and Sands Cross Lane, eastwards for 150 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Wessex Water to carry out Section 81 defect works and also repair or replace a cover and frame.

The order becomes effective on the 26th May 2022 with works expected to start on the 30th May 2022 until 30th May 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 1 day.

Ongoing closures

Lower Keyford

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Lower Keyford, from the junction with Rossiters Road northwards for a distance of 120 metres as shown on the map:

This Order will enable Dun Mill Construction to carry out storm & sewer drainage works.

The Order became effective on 17th March 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works started on 21st March 2022 and are expected to last until 16th May 2022 between the hours of 00:00 – 23:59 for a total of 35 days.

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are expected to last until 19th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59.
