Temporary road closures March 2023

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during March 2023.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 5th March 2023 as shown on the map:

Elm Lane to Hapsford Hill

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Elm Lane To Hapsford Hill, 130 metres east of the junction with Elm lane, for a total distance of 100 metres.

This order will enable Voneus Ltd. to carry out work to install fibre cables.

The order becomes effective on the 23rd February 2023 with works expected to start on the 3rd March 2023 until 3rd March 2023 between the hours of 08.00 – 16.00 for a total of 8 hours.

Footway between Selwood Road and The Mint (F1056-130)

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency footpath closure of the footway from 31 metres south east of the junction with The Mint, south eastwards for a total distance of 4 metres.

This order will enable Bristol Water to carry out works to connect to the water main.

The works are expected to start on the 7th March 2023 until 9th March 2023 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 3 days.

Keyford Lane, Selwood

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency road closure notice at Keyford Lane.

This order will enable MTL Group Ltd to carry out removal of dangerous trees affected by ash die back.

The works are expected to start on the 20th March 2023 until 24th March 2023 between the hours of 09.30 – 15.30 for a total of 5 days.

Gypsy Lane

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency road closure notice at Gypsy Lane from the junction with Bath Road, eastwards for a total distance of 20 metres.

This order will enable Wales and West Utilities to carry out gas repair works.

The works are expected to start on the 20th March 2023 until 28th March 2023 between the hours of 15.00 – 23.59 for a total of 9 days.

Long Ground

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency road closure notice at Long Ground.

This order will enable Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks to carry out cable fault repair.

The works are expected to start on the 28th March 2023 until 3rd April 2023 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 7 days.

Ongoing closures

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are now expected to last until 31st March 2023 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59. Please note the following notices have not been updated with the new finish date.
