Temporary road closures July 2022

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during July 2022.

Witham Friary

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling from Witham Hall Farm to Bunns Lane, Bindon Lane to Witham Hall Farm, Holt Lane, Witham Friary, for a distance of approximately 6631 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable surface dressing work to take place.

The works are expected to start on the 1st July 2022 and last until 14th July 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 14 days.

Rodden Farm Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Rodden Farm Lane, for a distance of approximately 478 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable surface dressing work to take place.

The works are expected to start on the 2nd July 2022 and last until 17th July 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 16 days.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 3rd July 2022.

This order will enable The Frome Independent Market to take place.

Elm Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Elm Lane, from the junction with Elm Lane to Park Hill southwards for a distance of 179 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable TLU Contracts to carry out works to clear blockage in carriageway on behalf of BT Openreach.

The order becomes effective on the 30th June 2022 with works expected to start on the 5th July 2022 until 11th July 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 7 days.

Lynfield Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic travelling from a point 50 metres north of the junction with Nunney Road in a northerly, easterly, southerly and westerly direction for a distance of 300 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable a playdays event to take place.

The road will be closed on 22nd July 2022 between the hours of 15.00 – 21.00.

Ongoing closures

Millards Hill House to Witham Hall Farm

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic travelling from the junction with Witham Hall Farm to Bunns Lane and Bindon Lane to Witham Hall Farm to the junction with Millards Hill and Foghamshire Lane to Gare Hill, for a distance of 1020 metres as shown on the map:

This order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out surface dressing works.

The order became effective on the 30th December 2021 with works expected to start on the 30th June 2022 until 13th July 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 14 days.

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are expected to last until 19th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59.
