Temporary road closures January 2023

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during January 2023.

Keyford Lane

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Keyford Lane from the junction with Sandys Hill Lane in a southern direction for 55 metres.

This order will enable Rendec to carry out storm drain installation works.

The order becomes effective on the 5th January 2023 with works expected to start on the 9th January 2023 until 27th January 2023 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 19 days.

Footway between Selwood Road and The Mint

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency closure of the footway between Selwood Road and The Mint (F1056-130). The closure commenced on 22nd January 2023 and will be remain closed from 00.00-23.59 until 26th January, for a total of 5 days.

This order will enable D & D Developments (Somerset) Ltd to carry out works to dig trench through to install utilities for water, waste and electric for 2 new dwellings. 

The contractor has indicated that access for Emergency Services through the site is not permitted on this occasion.

North Parade, The Bridge and Market Place

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along North Parade, from the junction with Willow Vale, north-eastwards for a distance of 45 metres; The Bridge, from the junction with Scott Road, north-eastwards for a distance of 60 metres and Market Place, from the junction with King Street, north-eastwards for a distance of 64 metres. A total distance of 169 metres.

This order will enable SCC – Major Improvement Scheme to carry out traffic light refurbishment.

The order becomes effective on the 19th January 2023 with works expected to start on the 24th January 2023 until 28th January 2023 between the hours of 18.30 – 06.00 for a total of 4 nights.

Cuckoo Lane

Somerset County Council have issued an emergency road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Cuckoo Lane.

This order will enable Renteq TM (South West) Limited to carry out tree cutting works.

The work will take place on the 31st January 2023 from 07.00 – 17.00 for a total of 10 hours.

Ongoing closures

Cherry Grove and footpaths

Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:

This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.

The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are now expected to last until 31st March 2023 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59. Please note the following notices have not been updated with the new finish date.
