Ebikes

electric bike pedal

Ever thought about trying an ebike here in Frome? At Frome Town Council we’re keen on cycling: it is good for health and a good source of sustainable transport. However we recognise that many people are put off using a bicycle in Frome because of the hills.

The solution? The town has a couple of electric power assist bicycles (ebikes) available for people in Frome to hire. The electric assistance helps to reduce the strain of cycling up hills and makes cycling more fun.

***Unfortunately, our ebikes are currently unavailable to hire while we find a new location for them.  Details of how to hire them will be published here once the scheme is back up and running. Thank you for your patience.***

Frome Community Bike Project

Frome Community Bike Project have a selection of electric bikes available to borrow for free for four weeks through the Cycle Together scheme. This is a great opportunity to explore how an ebike can fit in with your routines, what benefits it will bring to your life and what to look for if you decide to buy one. The loan also includes a lock, lights, helmet, panniers and high vis vest, everything you need to get started.

They also have a kids trailer and a few child seats that you can borrow with your loan. Details of these are on the booking page. To find out more information about loaning an ebike from the bike project, check out Frome Community Bike Project’s website.

Frome Health Connectors

The Frome Health Connectors will also be able to signpost clients with a discount code to encourage people whose health would benefit from cycling to get involved with the scheme. To find out more about Health Connections visit www.healthconnectionsmendip.org
