Frome Town Council’s Chair and Leader Cllr Fiona Barrows has released a statement in response to the launch of One Square Foot fundraising page.
“Frome Town Council (FTC) is aware of the launch of a fundraising page by One Square Foot, one of the organisations bidding to lease the stadium and clubhouse at Badgers Hill. The process remains live and no decisions have been made.
“We have met with all bidders in recent weeks and are currently assessing their proposals. One Square Foot’s decision to go public and launch a crowdfunder is entirely independent of Frome Town Council and has no bearing on the ongoing process. Any decisions about leasing Badgers Hill will be made at a council meeting and in public.
“Anyone pledging funds to One Square Foot needs to be aware that reaching the crowdfunder goal does not guarantee the success of their bid and does so at their own risk.”
