Great success for MeadowFest

Mayor of Frome MeadowFestFrome has seen yet another fantastic event take place on a hot and sunny afternoon in one of many resident’s favourite green spaces, Rodden Meadow.

MeadowFest saw hundreds of people head to the Meadow on the last afternoon of the Frome Festival and celebrate the town’s great outdoors and much loved river.

The free, family event saw a non-stop smoothie bike marathon with both little and bigger people enjoying using pedal power to make their own delicious drinks. As well as the much-anticipated annual Town V Cllrs tug of war which saw the Town take first place after a fiercely fought battle.

Mayor of Frome Mark Dorrington said, “MeadowFest brought lots of local residents and families together to have fun and learn more about this unique space right at the heart of our town. There was so much to do, from Frome Town Council’s DIY bug houses to plenty of river dipping and playing in the water. And, for the more adventurous, a composting toilet was available!”

MeadowFest was organised by Friends of the River Frome and supported by Frome Town Council. If you’re involved in a community organisation that would like to hold an event in one of our parks or open spaces, find out more here.
