Frome Town Council urges Mendip District Council not to sign the Saxonvale S106 with Acorn before holding discussions with Mayday

Cllr Anita Collier, Leader of Frome Town Council, has written to Cllr Ros Wyke, Chair of the Asset Management Group, expressing the Town Councils disappointment over their decision to grant authority to sign the S106 agreement with Acorn. In her letter, she urges Mendip District Council not to sign the Saxonvale s106 agreement with Acorn until they have held discussions with Mayday Saxonvale.

Cllr Wyke stated at the meeting that Mendip are not bound to proceed with Acorn and are able to consider other options. This is a positive move and Frome Town Council want to ensure that discussions between Mendip District Council and Mayday Saxonvale take place as soon as possible. Therefore, Frome Town Council has offered to bring both parties together and facilitate discussions.
