Great news! Last night, Frome Town Council agreed formally to buy the Public Offices on Christchurch Street West. I will now hopefully complete the legal process in the next month or so.
This means we can now move on to the most exciting part of the project. I’m sorry not to have been in contact with you sooner but until there was agreement to buy I really couldn’t have told you anything more.
The next stage will be to speak to you all about how you can be involved in this exciting project, be that as a tenant, hirer of rooms, designer or simply (and most importantly) a member of the community. I still have notes from all our previous conversations so some of you will be simply confirming your needs.
We’re trying to arrange an open day at the building so that as many people as possible can see inside and understand its potential (as well as its restrictions). From then we’ll be drilling down and working hard to understand what is required, how we can design and then operate the building in order to meet as many of the communities needs as possible.
The County Council officers will now move out during April, so we have the time to plan the building design following consultation with the community.
I’ll be in touch soon and thanks for your patience.
