Christmas lantern making workshops

Preperations are under way for this years’ Big Christmas Lights switch on. The event will be held on Friday the 1st December from 4.30pm in the market place. There will be Christmas stalls, food, mulled wine, crafts and children’s entertainment.

The main focus of the event will be the lantern procession. We are hoping as many people as possible will join us for this spectacle of light, so throughout November we are inviting you to take part in lantern making workshops.

Artist Aliss Vaas and Mell Day will be running the sessions, drawing on their experience working on similar projects. The series will provide a chance for people to have fun with family and friends, culminating in a display of true community spirit on the 1st December.

The workshops will take place in the Welshmill Community Hub, led by Mel and Aliss. Home in Frome will be on hand to give encouragement and support. Further workshops will be taking place in schools.

The workshop dates are:

Sunday 12th November – 10am – 4pm

Wednesday 15th November 4pm – 8pm

Saturday 18th November 10am – 4pm

Tuesday 21st November 6pm – 8pm

Sunday 26th November 10am – 4pm

tuesday 28th November 6pm – 8pm

Wednesday 29th November 6pm – 8pm
