Award winning drone team brings Halloween magic to Frome

Frome residents are in for a Halloween treat as a spooktacular drone show from local company Celestial comes to the Old Showfield on Thursday 29 October.

Running from 6pm to 8pm, the event will feature a Halloween-themed performance from the Frome-based drone specialists, who recently wowed millions of viewers as runners-up on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent 2026.

Celestial is a world-leading drone light show and entertainment technology company headquartered locally. Pioneers in aerial storytelling, the team use a fleet of more than 1,000 synchronised LED drones to create breathtaking animations, characters and optical illusions in the night sky.

The drone experts have already treated locals to an extra-terrestrial extravaganza with Close Encounters of the Frome Kind in 2023 and the autumnal Glow in the Park event in 2021. This year, the drones will take to the skies once again with a fang-tastic Halloween themed show, raising funds for the Frome Skatepark Project and the new skatepark at Mary Baily Playing Fields.

Mayor of Frome, Cllr Mark Dorrington, said: “We’re incredibly lucky to have a company like Celestial based here in Frome. Their shows have become much-loved community events, bringing people together and showcasing creativity and innovation on a truly impressive scale. This year’s Halloween show promises to be another memorable evening, while also helping to raise funds for a fantastic community project. I’d encourage everyone to set their calendar reminders now. ”

Ottilie Culloty, Head of Sales & Marketing at Celestial, said: “It’s always incredibly special to bring a Celestial show to Frome, especially as it’s where I grew up, and the support we’ve had from the community has been incredible. We are so grateful to all those that voted us to second place on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent and are delighted to put on another spectacular show for locals to say thank you. We’ve got some spooky surprises in store this time, and I’m looking forward to seeing the skies above my hometown light up with drones once again!”

Before the main event there will be food and drink vendors, along with entertainment for all ages.

Please note, there are a few important things residents should be aware of. There will be no general parking available at the event and priority booking will be given to Frome residents. Attendees are encouraged to walk where possible or use town centre car parks if travelling by car.

Pre-booked blue badge on site is very limited and will only be available for Blue Badge holders. Spaces must be booked in advance, and attendees will be asked to present their badge on arrival.

As this year’s show has a Halloween theme, some elements may be spooky for younger children and parents and carers are encouraged to use their discretion. The event will be alcohol-free; however, the cricket club will be open, and you may choose to watch the event from there.

The event is free to attend with a suggested donation amount of £5 per person. Donations will be collected by Rotary Club of Frome for the new skate park at Mary Baily.  You gave very generously last time, so let’s see if we can get Frome Skatepark Project closer to their target.

Tickets will be available via our ticket link which will go live at 1pm on Saturday 10 October. A second tranche of tickets will then be released on Wednesday 14 October at 12pm – you can see more at https://tinyurl.com/spooktacular-drones

Tickets will be limited to 6 per family and bookings must include a Frome address.
