Discover Frome, Frome Town Council’s one-stop-shop for residents and tourists to find information about local events, activities and services, has published its annual what’s-on guide to the school summer holidays. The 2025 summer holiday guide has details of clubs and coaching, fairs and festivals, yoga, dancing, art and more
Cllr Tracey Ashford said “The six-week summer holiday and the challenge of keeping young people entertained is familiar to many parents. The Discover Frome guide has details of a range of clubs and groups including free or low-cost activities. Local charity Purple Elephant is running free activities all summer, including the annual Frome Children’s Festival on Sunday 27th July between the Cheese and Grain and Welshmill Park, with free activities between 10am and 2pm. Although all Purple Elephant activities including the Children’s Festival are free, booking is essential; you’ll find the links within the Discover Frome guide. The guide is already packed, but information comes into Discover Frome all the time, so keep an eye out for other events and activities throughout the summer.”
Shared Earth Learning are running forest school sessions at their base at Vallis Veg from 10am to 3.30pm on various dates in August (£40 per child plus £3.50 admin fee), plus some sessions geared to children with special educational needs (SEN) which run from 10am to 2.30pm (£12 per child plus £3.50 admin fee). Booking is essential.
There’s also a litter pick from Welshmill to Weylands with Frome Families for the Future on 10th August from 10am to 11.30am, during Frome Walking Festival, the Carnival Fun Day on 19th July in Victoria Park and details of many paid-for holiday clubs, camps and activities in the summer holiday guide.
