Work to start soon on refurbishing Frome Town Hall

You may have noticed that the scaffolding has been up at the Frome Town Hall for a few weeks now, as the Town Council has been repairing and repainting the windows, mending a hole in the roof, unblocking gutters, down pipes and capping chimneys. This work is due to be complete by the end of May.

In the next week or so, the full tender documents to refurbish the interior of the building and install a ramp to the front door and the external fire escape from the Council Chamber will be posted to five local contractors. This work will likely start on site at the end of May. The work is still on schedule to complete the project in winter 2016.

Town Clerk, Paul explained, “The whole of the car park (with the exception of a space for the Car Club car) and Elliott Building will be closed off. We’ll make sure informal users of the car park are informed in advance of work starting. To keep everyone up to speed with progress, regular updates will be posted in the soon be installed notice board beside the front steps as well as on social media and other notice boards around the town.”
