Tuesdays are Playdays at Brunel Green this August

Super Roots session, 2024

Frome Town Council is hosting a series of free family Playdays at Brunel Green every Tuesday in August from 1pm to 3pm, as part of a programme of drop-in events this summer. The Playdays are supported by local organisations Super Roots and Caravan Arts, and residents are encouraged to come along to share their thoughts about how the space could be improved.

Other free sessions within the programme include a chance to spot as much wildlife as possible using iNaturalist, a community bat count and ending with a ‘Brunch on Brunel Green’ in September.

Cllr Anita Collier said: “Bring the whole family to the green to enjoy lots of opportunities for creative play and adventure. Relax in a hammock, test your balance on a slackline, get crafty and take part in some exciting challenges, or simply enjoy the space for what it is. These sessions are a good opportunity to get outdoors this August, and to let us know your thoughts about how you’d like to use Brunel Green in the future. Playdays are also fun, free events for families during the school summer holidays, so do come along and make the most of the activities and explore one of Frome’s open spaces.”

The free drop-in sessions form part of FTC’s summer programme at Brunel Green, helping residents to discover and enjoy the area, whilst sharing ideas about how it could be improved in the future. FTC staff will be on hand, observing how the green is used and will be available to discuss ideas around the future of Brunel Green.

If you are unable to share your thoughts in person, you can do so on My Frome, FTC’s digital engagement platform. Find out more and take part at myfrome.frometowncouncil.gov.uk
