Temporary road closures December 2022

The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during December 2022.

Town Centre

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 4th December 2022 as shown on the map:

This order will enable The Frome Independent Market to take place.

The Butts

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along The Butts, 76 metres south west from the junction with Somerset Road southwestwards for a total distance of 40 metres.

This order will enable Milestone to carry out works for patching.

The order becomes effective on the 1st December 2022 with works expected to start on the 13th December 2022 until 14th December 2022 between the hours of 09.30 – 15.30 for a total of 2 days.

Keyford

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Keyford, between the junction of The Cooperage to the crossroads with Locks/Rossiter’s Hill on Sunday 11th December 2022 between 11am and 7pm.

This order will enable the Keyford Christmas street party to take place.

Ongoing closures

Christchurch Street East

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Christchurch Street East from the junction with Wesley Slope eastwards for a distance of 180 metres.

This order will enable Somerset Highways, Major Improvements Scheme to carry out traffic signals refurbishment and surfacing works.

The order becomes effective on the 17th November 2022 with works expected to start on the 28th November 2022 until 7th December 2022 between the hours of 18.30 – 06.00 for a total of 10 nights (please note the dates have been updated since the publication of the notice). Traffic lights will be in operation during the day.

A36 – Standerwick

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along the A36 in both directions at Standerwick overnight. Traffic lights will be in operation during the day.

This order will enable for bridge repairs to be carried out on behalf of Network Rail.

The works are expected to start on the 31st October 2022 and last until 17th December 2022 between the hours of 21.00 – 07.00 for a total of 47 nights.

Glebelands and Pookfield Close, Nunney

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Glebelands, from the junction with Flowerfield southwards for a total distance of 109 metres and Pookfield Close, from the junction with Glebelands eastwards for a total distance of 91 metres. A total distance of 200 metres.

This order will enable Flynn Ltd to carry out drainage works for a new housing development.

The order becomes effective on the 20th October 2022 with works expected to start on the 24th October 2022 until 23rd December 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 61 days.

Frome to Radstock Road

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along the Frome to Radstock Road – from 180 metres west of the junction with Colliers Lane, westwards for a distance of 280 metres.

This order will enable Milestone Infrastructure to carry out drainage works.

The order becomes effective on the 17th November 2022 with works expected to start on the 21st November 2022 until 7th December 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59 for a total of 17 days. Please note the dates have been extended since the notice was published.
