Share your thoughts on the Old Showfield

Frome Town Council staff will be hosting and attending events in and around Frome’s Old Showfield over the Easter break, gathering the views of people who use the space. The information will inform the planning and budgeting for the Showfield, Frome’s largest community green space.

Cllr Anne Hills said “The Old Showfield is a highly valued space for so many people in Frome, including dog walkers, runners and walkers, children and young people, footballers, cricketers and many more. FTC have installed a lovely blossom circle and a community orchard in the past few years and we’re looking forward to reopening the new play area very soon. The question is: what next? And the answer to that question lies with the people of Frome. Over the next few weeks, you’ll find FTC staff popping up at Parkrun, hosting a fun ‘frisbee golf’ event, an outdoor gym session, joining our colleagues at The Pod for a Play Pod session, and Super Roots for a go-kart making events, among other things. We’re also welcoming Charismatic Pets to the Showfield on 21st April for a ‘dog parkour’ session, an opportunity to put your dog through its paces and maybe take home a rosette.

“Wherever you find us and our chalkboard/notepads, we’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Perhaps you’d like to see new seating in an area you visit, or more wildflower areas? We can’t promise to deliver everything that people ask for, but with your help we can keep making this lovely green space even better. The information we gather will be used to inform the planning and budgeting for the Showfield in this financial year and beyond.
