River House Café joins Frome Community Toilet Scheme

The River House Café has become the latest Frome business to join the community toilet scheme. Situated in a prime position on the town’s bridge, The River House opened earlier this year and has become a popular destination for coffee, cakes, lunches and weekend evening cocktails too. Owner Ellen Porteous was keen for the café to become a member of the community toilet scheme, joining other town centre businesses in providing a much needed service to the public.

The community toilet scheme was created as a response to Mendip District Councils closure of most of the town’s public toilets. Businesses making their toilets available to the public and not just to customers include: Crocker and Woods and Paccamora in Catherine Hill, The Garden Café in Stony Street, Café La Strada in Cheap Street, The George Hotel and Costa Coffee in the market place, the Bath Arms in Palmer Street and the Cheese & Grain.
