Public consultation for a proposed residential/community hub build

Wed 15 July – 3.30 pm – 7.30 p.m. – The Cornerhouse

A public consultation event is being held on Wed 15 July to introduce a proposal for a mixed use development on land at Vallis Road.

The proposed development is a residential development comprising 67 units, along with a community hub. The build would be of an eco-friendly design, use eco-friendly construction techniques and encourage renewable energy technologies.

The plans include an element of “self-build” giving new residents an opportunity to build their own house, following a flexible design, as well as a Local Area of Play. The developer is Connolly and Callaghan who have a track record of building and running social housing and private accommodation.

The consultation will take place between 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm. at The Cornerhouse, 1 Christchurch Street East Frome.

Members of the public will also be able to comment on the proposed scheme following a subsequent formal planning application to Mendip District Council.
