New Grants Committee awards £31,000

The newly established Grants Committee at Frome Town Council has award £31,391.00 in funding across a number of projects.

In a meeting that looked at 16 projects, the councillors were able to fund 13. These included Frome staples such as the Carnival, the Frome Festival, the Toy Library’s move to the library, and the warm space at the Good Heart, as well as new projects such as Transition Streets Frome and the Single Mothers Cooking Together project.

Chair of the Grants Committee and Mayor of Frome Philip Campagna said: “We have funded a really exciting array of projects which are in line with our strategic objectives but in this instance, we were unable to fund everything. It is really important that the projects that we fund are in line with our strategic objectives as a council and we are committed to working with community groups and organisations in a number of ways beyond funding to support projects to come to fruition and will welcome renewed and revisited applications.”
