January means different things to different people.
For some it’s about pulling in the horns after the indulgence of Christmas and New Year, for others it’s about making promises to ourselves about how we are going to do better.
It may be about being more careful with money, watching our food intake, taking more exercise or catching up with friends. it may even be something simple, but incredibly important, like offering a little kindness each day.
There are so many people in the world who are suffering. Starvation, loss, abuse, mental illness and anxiety are just a few being experienced – not only across the world, but right here in our own country, and right here in Frome.
For those of us who are lucky enough to live a good life, it would be good to think about what we can give back to help.
Checking on neighbours, donating food items at the supermarket, supporting good causes, even just smiling more as we walk through the streets. It’s the little things that count.
So whatever we promise ourselves as we enter a new year, one gesture a day could make an enormous difference.
There’s an exciting year ahead for Frome with wonderful things already in the pipeline, and I’ll be covering many of them as they happen, but for the moment, I’d like to wish you a year of fruitfulness, kindness and peace of mind.
Happy New Year!
