Frome Town Council Undertakes Annual Town Benchmarking Survey

Frome Town Council is currently participating in Town Benchmarking, an annual survey that is conducted to address the real issues of how to understand, measure, evaluate, and ultimately improve town centres.

In order to increase the effectiveness of forward strategies and action planning, Town Benchmarking collects data through a series of Key Performance Indicators such as identifying what kinds of shops are in the town centre as well as finding out where visitors to the town come from and their reason for visiting.

An extremely important outcome of the Town Benchmarking survey is to determine what makes a town an attractive place to live and shop. As Frome has an above average number of independent shops and businesses, the survey acts as a useful method to determine how Frome is developing and how the town centre can be supported in the years to come.
