The First Mendip Visitor Economy Conference

The First Mendip Visitor Economy Conference to be held at The Cheese and Grain

The Cheese and Grain will host the first ever Mendip Visitor Economy Conference on Friday 6th October at 9.30am. Visit Somerset are working in partnership with Discover Frome, The Mendip Tourism Alliance and Mendips Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to bring this project to life.

The Conference will detail the objectives of key partners involved in marketing Mendip as a tourist destination, such as Discover Frome and The Cheese and Grain. And will feature presentations on digital engagement, new booking systems, and social media.

Visit Somerset will be taking this opportunity to officially launch Mendip Way, an exciting new walking route between Uphill in Weston to Frome that is already gaining huge foreign interest and could potentially add great value to the regional economy.

It will be a great opportunity to bring together many of Mendips’ key figures to discuss change and direction to one of the county’s most important industries, the visitor economy.

John Turner CEO of Visit Somerset said, “We realise the importance of the Mendips within the overall visitor economy and want to help create a more impactful and insightful learning experience, which will help up skill and give our members and the industry the tools to complete a far more up to date and relevant customer experience.”

Further information on the conference and a detailed agenda can be found via The First Mendip Visitor Economy Conference
