A Junior Choir for children aged 5-10 who like singing, meets every Friday afternoon in term time from 4pm-4.45pm. It’s a way of getting some music education while having the fun of learning lots of songs! They sing a variety of music, (traditional, nursery, folk songs, rounds, chants, action songs, anthems, Christmas carols etc) leading to singing in occasional church services and little concerts including the Christmas Eve Crib Service.
The choir is run by Ann Burgess, Director of Music at Christ Church. Ann is a music graduate and trained teacher, DBS cleared, plays the piano and organ.
Parents or accompanying adults stay while the choir practises – they can listen and help themselves to tea or coffee and biscuits. The children have a drink and snack at the end.
Voluntary contribution of £1 per week.
